North Liverpool used car dealer Solo Car Sales is set to invest £400,000 to modernise its showroom. Tony McDonough reports

Liverpool used car dealer Solo Car Sales will be transforming the look of its Anfield showroom as it embarks on a £400,000 upgrade.

Run by directors James and Stephen McConville, Solo is based in Larch Lea and has been selling used cars since it was founded in 2008. Its 12-strong team now sells more than 1,000 vehicles a year and it keeps 100 used cars in stock.

In recent times the business has invested to grow its online presence but James and Stephen decided it was time to also give the business a physical upgrade.

Project developments will include a new state of the art office space, a redecorated black and green showroom, full roof replacement and electric vehicles infrastructure will also be added.

James said: “We always invest in and develop our team but now it’s time to invest and develop our working space so it actually reflects what we are as a business – passionate.”

Since its 2008 launch, Solo has sold more than 12,000 cars and has won several awards including AutoTrader’s People & Culture Award. Customers have included premier league footballers, professional boxers and iconic entertainment venue Bongo’s Bingo.

“Our slogan is ‘boss cars for less money’,” added James. “We always aim to give our customers the best buying experience. We are really excited to invite customers to see the new showroom.

“Liverpool may be on the verge of winning the Premier League but we believe we still have the best team in Anfield.”
