Liverpool entrepreneur Rachel offers you the chance to learn the joy of film photography

Digital photography has made creating and manipulating an image almost too easy – but for those who yearn for the craft of the analogue age, help is at hand.
Liverpool-based Little Vintage Photography, founded by Rachel Brewster-Wright 18 months ago, aims to help people “embrace the unique, imperfect and beautiful craft of analogue film photography”.
Rachel runs ‘Discover & Create’ workshops which include and introduction to analogue photography, ‘Pinhole to Pinterest’ which looks at the convergence of old and new technologies and ‘Konstruktor Camp’ where you can learn to build your own camera.
“Shooting on film naturally encourages a much slower pace and a chance to appreciate the magic of natural beauty and traditional processes alongside the fun of science and technology,” said Rachel.
She works with education, heritage, STEM and arts-based organisations such as wehearttech, and Liverpool Girl Geeks have her listed as one of their ‘role models’.
Rachel also offers her services as an “alternative wedding photographer” and has ‘Rosie’ her converted vintage caravan which can be hired as a photo booth for weddings and events as well as operating as a travelling camera obscura, mini-darkroom and workshop space.
On Sunday, April 30, Little Vintage is holding a Pinhole to Pinterest workshop to coincide with Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day.
Participants will learn a number of skills and techniques including how to make a pinhole camera, how to process black and white film by hand, and create real Polaroids from smartphone tech via an ‘Instant Lab’.
The workshop takes place in South Liverpool and lasts the whole day. There is only room for five people to take part and under-16s must have a guardian present.
Cost is £120. To book use the contact form on the Little Vintage Photography website or email with a contact phone number to rachel@littlevintagephotography.co.uk
