Liverpool mechanical and electrical engineering consultancy Steven A Hunt & Associates is opening a new office in Birmingham.

This latest expansion comes just months after the business underwent a management buyout, backed with £500,000 from River Capital. It marked the end of an era for the business with founder Steven Hunt relinquishing control.

Its senior management team, comprising Neil Baines, Anne King, Dave Kelly and Dominic Sibbring, led the MBO. The exact value of the deal was not disclosed but, as of July 31, 2024, the business had net assets of £482,619.

Its new Birmingham office will enable Steven A Hunt & Associates to better service its construction sector clients across the UK.

“This new office reflects our continued growth, commitment to excellence, and our drive to be closer to our clients,” said Neil Baines, managing director of the firm. “It’s a proud moment for our team, and we’re thrilled to begin this next chapter.”

Robert Wootton will lead the Birmingham office after being appointed as regional lead. He offers experience in M&E design and project leadership. He has previously worked at another Liverpool outfit, Consulux M&E Consulting.

“I’m honoured to lead the Birmingham office and contribute to the company’s strategic growth,” said Robert. “The Midlands is a dynamic hub, and we’re excited to deliver our trusted services to a wider network of clients and partners.”
