Neil Blankstone is looking to grow the reach of independent London broking boutique First Equity Limited (FEL) into Liverpool city region.

One of Liverpool’s best known wealth managers and stockbrokers, Neil was for many years a director of his family’s stockbroking business, Blankstone Sington, based in the central business district.

Well known for trading in the shares of Everton Football Club, Blankstone Sington saw temporary restrictions imposed on its activities in November 2021 by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Dating back to 1976, the firm was wound up in 2024 with its private client business acquired by Redmayne Bentley.

Since then Neil has continued to work in the wealth management sector and joined FEL in April as a senior investment manager. Now he has invested an undisclosed sum into the business.

He said: “Collaborating closely with co-founder Paul Henry and joint chief executive Cameron Parry, we all recognise the incredible opportunity and talent that exists in a city hosting some of the biggest names in UK financial services.

“Paul and Cameron’s belief in me, Liverpool, and the surrounding regions as a hub that can help FEL grow has shone through in every discussion.

“With a wealth of financial resources and talent beyond London, and a UK financial services outlook that’s looking brighter than it has been for some time, I’m excited to play my part in the next chapter of FEL’s well-established history.”

FEL offers execution-only, advisory and discretionary management services, to private clients, asset management firms, hedge funds, pension schemes and other institutional and corporate investors.
