Radisson Blu brings ‘Experience Meetings’ and ‘Brain Food’ to Liverpool delegates

A recent poll has shown that office staff attend an average of three meetings each day, with some attending more than ten and hotels group Radisson Blu have taken these figures on board to devise a brand new product.

The average figures shown above equate to 10 million man-hours  spent in business meetings across the country and Radisson Blu are bringing about an Experience Meetings concept designed to improve the effectiveness of this time spent.

This new concept aims to combat feelings of discomfort, boredom and frustration with poor management. Of the workers surveyed, 27 per cent found the meetings average, while a further 15% said they were bad or very bad and a completely ineffective use of their time.

The main issues outlined that were:

  • No clear agenda (66%)
  • Poorly managed (50%)
  • Uncomfortable furniture (11%)

Almost half of workers polled admitted to daydreaming during meetings, while 19% say they look to their mobile phones for boredum-induced distraction and nearly 10% hold their hands up to falling asleep.

Experience Meetings & Brain Food

The Radisson Blu on Liverpool’s Old Hall Street is one of the groups venues that has a range of conference rooms available for meetings. They seek to ensure that conditions are correct for comfortable, effective and engaging meetings.

The group recently took Experience Meetings to the public in Liverpool with a purpose-built events truck touring the UK & Ireland where they also boasted their super-nutrious brain food menu designed to keep delegates alert and healthy.

Steve Manfield, area director, Marketing UK & Ireland for Radisson Blu, said:

“The UKs meeting industry generated £5.6bn for the economy in 2013, therefore it’s important that meetings are designed to be as productive as possible.”

He added:

“An Experience Meeting at Radisson Blu Hotel Liverpool takes into account every aspect of an event experience – from the meeting room’s constitution to free wireless internet, booking experience and food and drink with signature Brain Food offering.”
