A new start-up venture specialising in ‘lift finishing’ has secured a five-figure investment from Liverpool SME funding provider River Capital.

Taylor Hunt provides a vital service in the construction of new buildings. It ‘finishes’ the surfaces of new lifts before they are installed. This is not only essential to the aesthetic appearance of the lift but also for safety reasons- for example, fire resistance.

This funding will support the Warrington firm’s launch and initial growth phase in the North West construction market. It will be used for setting up the company’s workshop, purchasing initial stock, and supporting working capital needs.

Founded by industry veteran James Hunt and experienced entrepreneur Dorothy Taylor, Taylor Hunt will aim to fill a gap in the lift industry by providing high-quality finishing services for new builds and modernisation projects.

Initially focusing on the North West region, taking advantage of the Government’s projected £15.5bn spend on major projects in the area over the next decade, it expects to create 13 full-time jobs within its first two years of operation.

Managing director James Hunt offers 30 years of experience in the lift industry. He said: “We’re incredibly grateful for the support from River Capital. This investment enables us to deliver quality lift finishing services to major industry players from day one.”

Sue Chambers, investment manager at River Capital, added: “We’re pleased to support Taylor Hunt in its launch.

“James and Dorothy have a compelling mix of industry expertise and entrepreneurial experience. We believe they are well-positioned to capitalise on the growing demand for specialist lift finishing services in the North West and beyond.”
