Sunflowers to host Pancake Party Fundraiser

Liverpool Sunflowers Cancer Care is hosting a pancake party and coffee morning fundraiser on Tuesday 17th February (Shrove Tuesday).

This special pancake themed event will take place between 10.30 – 12.30 at Sunflowers Drop-in Centre at 21 Aigburth Road. Anyone from the local community is welcome to attend.

As well as serving up pancakes and hot drinks, there will also be a series of fundraising activities happening throughout the morning including a pancake tossing challenge, raffles with prizes, plus a range of cake, arts and craft stalls to browse around.

Entrance to the event costs £3 per person (tickets available to purchase on the door) and covers the cost of pancakes and refreshments. All profits from the event will help raise money for the charity’s work supporting people in Merseyside living with cancer.

The event will also offer the perfect opportunity for anyone who wants to find out more about accessing support or advice from Liverpool Sunflowers, to drop in and chat with staff members in a friendly and informal environment.

Joan Elmer, Chief Executive Officer at Liverpool Sunflowers Cancer Care said:

“Our Pancake Party and Coffee Morning aims to bring together people from the local community to have some fun, whilst also raising some vital funds needed to continue our work in supporting people in Merseyside who are currently battling with cancer.

“Sadly, almost everyone has someone close to them who is affected by a cancer diagnosis at some point in life. That’s especially true here in Merseyside, where we have the highest incidence rate for cancer in the UK.

“But at Liverpool Sunflowers we also believe that by working together, we can build a strong community in the fight against cancer.

“So why not gather some of your friends and family, and come along to show your support? Join us for coffee, pancakes and a chat, and be a part of our pancake-themed fundraising extravaganza.”

Liverpool Sunflowers offers a range of free, professional support to anyone in Merseyside who has been affected by a cancer diagnosis, including patients, survivors, their friends and family.
