Leading sportswear brand Under Armour opening new 3,000 sq ft retail outlet at Liverpool ONE in Liverpool city centre. Tony McDonough reports
Sportswear brand Under Armour is to open a new 3,000 sq ft store in Liverpool ONE by the end of the year.
It is the latest in a series of new lettings at the £1bn retail and leisure complex. In August it was announced global beauty brand Charlotte Tilbury would open a new store in Paradise Street in October. Designer brand Tessuti has also opened on the same street.
Under Armour will trade from a unit in South John Street. It will stock the brand’s performance sportswear, footwear and accessories. The business was founded with a single shirt in 1996.
It says it will offer an “enhanced customer experience” at the outlet. Rob Deacon, senior asset manager at Liverpool ONE owner Grosvenor, said: “At Liverpool ONE we are continually evolving our line-up for consumers.
“We are delivering an increasing number of firsts amongst retailers and operators, as well holistic experience-led offerings. We are confident that Under Armour will flourish at Liverpool ONE in this next exciting step in their brand journey.”
The signing of Under Armour follows a number of other 2022 announcements for Liverpool ONE. These include the South John Street openings of footwear retailers Russell and Bromley and Kick Game, as well as Bershka.
A £10m leisure venture, including a go-kart track, will open in the former Debenhams store. And the building will also be the new home for retailer Marks & Spencer. It will leave its current home in Lord Street after more than 100 years.
