Brand marketing specialist Wild Thang is sending out Christmas gifts to its clients designed to emphasise its commitment to becoming a sustainable business.

In January 2022 Bootle-based Wild Thang, whose clients have included Sky Bet, Paddy Power, Wembley Stadium and Liverpool and Everton football clubs, will announce more details of its 10-year plan to become a net zero carbon firm.

It aims to make sure that all the branded clothing merchandise and print it produces are coming from sustainable sources. Wild Thang founder Andrew Dwerryhouse says its target is to be carbon neutral by 2030.

To underline this commitment Wild Thang has sent out gift packs to its clients this Christmas that are all focused on this sustainable message. They include products made from sustainable bamboo – a drinks container, wireless phone charger and a pen.

It is also sending out notebooks made from recycled paper, a wooden Christmas tree decoration that is completely biodegradable, a pack to allow you to grow your own Christmas tree and a recycled cotton drawstring backpack.

Wild Thang founder and managing director Andrew Dwerryhouse said: “We want our clients to know a big part of our company vision for the next 10 years will be focused on sustainability and as one of the key components we will be aiming to be carbon neutral by 2030.

“This year the products we will be sending to our own amazing clients will be focused on sustainability and reusability encouraging everyone who receives a gift to Use IT, Reuse IT, and then Recycle IT.

“We will also be avoiding all single plastic use and throwaway products so we have created a sustainability message and made sure it’s located on each product we have gifted to our clients as a reminder. “Our eco product range has never been bigger. We recognise it is now more important than ever.”

Andrew has just overseen a £2m transformation of its Derby Road headquarters which saw the site expanded and new manufacturing technology installed. In July he told LBN it was intention to double the company’s headcount over the next year. It’s current headcount is more than 30 and his ambition is to grow this number to around 60.

He started the business 20 years ago with a £1,500 Prince’s Trust grant and said Wild Thang had taken a hit during the pandemic but had now come roaring back. He added: “We are now starting the process of taking Wild Thang to the next level.”
