Yorkshire House in Liverpool’s central office district has undergone a six-figure refurbishment a year after it changed hands for £2.75m.

The seven-storey block in Chapel Street was originally built in 1926 as the city headquarters of the Yorkshire Building Society.

It lay empty for a number of years before being acquired and refurbished by Arrowcroft, famous for bringing the Albert Dock back to life, in 2006.

Arrowcroft sold the building last May to Bolton-based developer Millfield Estates.

The investment into the building has seen a major upgrade into the common areas and vacant suites.

The design-led renovation has enhanced the building’s high quality office space and has upgraded it to a Metronet enabled building delivering high-speed internet access. 

Its new look has attracted new tenants including Prime Site Developments, specialists in the construction of student accommodation, care facilities, and city centre residential accommodation, who moved into the fourth floor of the building during the refurbishment, occupying 1,583 sq. ft of space. 

Enterprise cloud contact centre and workforce optimisation specialists, Aspect Software, has now taken over the entirety of the seventh floor, which boasts over 2,313 sq. ft of space.

CBRE and Worthington Owen acted for Millfield Estates while Aspect Software were represented by Cushman & Wakefield.

This month, personal injury specialists, UK Law Nationwide, also joins the Yorkshire House cohort, taking advantage of the newly renovated sixth floor suite, which boasts a new glass entrance façade and benefiting from new flooring and improved working space.

Electrical distributor Hitter Exports, has relocated within the building to the 882 sq. ft unit on the ground floor to expand operations.

With the property’s other existing tenants including Cowgill Holloway, Moore Media and Graham & Woolnough, the property is now fully let.
