Berkeley Shaw ‘scales up’ with new appointment
A new appointment at Liverpool property firm Berkeley Shaw Real Estate is part of its commercial agency division’s ‘scale up’ says managing director John Baybut

Liverpool-based Berkeley Shaw Real Estate has boosted its commercial agency offer with the appointment of Liam Round to head the expanding division.
For two years until April 2025 Liam was a senior surveyor at Sefton Council and, prior to that, had worked as a surveyor for Knowsley Council for 15 years.
This move is the “next step” in the Berkeley Shaw‘s ambitions to scale up further, says managing director John Baybut. The appointment will enhance the growing firm’s offer to property and land-owners, with an expert resource for ‘red book valuations’.
They are those governed by industry regulator the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
“Our knowledge and expertise now covers all areas of commercial management and consultancy and this move is key to developing a regional scale as befits an area as large and dynamic as the North West,” said John.
The new service will support the agency’s growing geographical footprint and comes on the heels of the firm’s recent expansion into the north Cheshire market with the acquisition of Adams Estate Agency. The firm now has more than 60 staff.
Liam added: “It’s great to be on board and I’ve hit the ground running. My first task was to value two second World War hangars, which is not your everyday job. From the quirky to the corporate, we’re building a team with the expertise to serve all needs.”

He says his 20 years’ experience is available to the public sector, as well as commercial investors and landlords.
“All sides of the market are looking at how they can rationalise their property assets or maximise their holdings, and our tailored advice is proving to be sought-after,” he explained.
Liam is a keen golfer, with a handicap of four, and a member of Childwall Golf Club. He is also an accredited RICS assessor, mentoring new entrants into the industry as they seek to pass their APC exams and secure Chartered accreditation.
