Liverpool manufacturer and global supplier to the pharmaceutical industry ChargePoint Technology is reaping the rewards of a multi-million investment into its production facility.

Based in Speke in the south of the city, ChargePoint provides equipment and systems that enable the safe handling and transferring of powders in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, and chemical manufacturing.

Employing 140 people, it focuses on ‘smart powder handling’ that ensures sterility, operator safety, and containment—especially for highly potent drugs, vaccines, and other sensitive materials where contamination could pose a serious risk.

In the past couple of years ChargePoint has built a new production facility adjacent to its Liverpool headquarters and has invested £3m in a fit-out. It includes a large high-tech clean room and environmentally-controlled storage.

This has now started to feed into stronger trading at the group, which also has operations in New Jersey and Boston in the US. ChargePoint has posted its accounts for the 12 months to December 31, 2025, on Companies House.

They show revenues up to £28m from £26.9m in 2024, although pre-tax profits dipped from £8.6m in 2024 to £7.8m in the latest accounts. Writing in the annual report, chief executive Chris Eccles said: “Significant investment in growth areas has been made during 2025, enabled by strong trading and cash generation.”

He added: “Investment made during the year was in additional roles, increased employees, development of new products, further development of existing products, continuous improvement in health and safety and quality, and a £1m investment in plant and machinery and storage.”

Chris also said that the expansion of the production facility at Speke had enabled the business, whose majority shareholder is US private equity outfit Arcline, to achieve year-on-year growth of its single product range of 8.%.
